Exhibition in Robin Hood's Bay

With our Spring Exhibition 'Sunshine and Shadows' opening on Saturday the 16th of April, the studio will be a hive of activity in the next few days, as we get it spruced up and turned into our Gallery, ready to welcome you all, open daily 10am-4pm until Sunday 26th. Please come and see what we've been up to in the last few months. It can be lonely work painting, so getting the chance to show you all our work gives us the validation to keep at it, and hopefully improve our painting.

Local views have inspired us, so there will be a few scenes on the walls you'll recognise but also paintings inspired from further afield, such as the Outer Hebrides in Scotland where one of our artists Sadie Hepburn loves to visit.

I've tried to capture, in watercolour, Winter sunrises over Whitby from a some photos I took one very cold, beautiful January morning on Sandsend beach. Also this painting above and another of Staithes will be available.

There are six of us that run the studio, all with different painting styles, so there will be a wide variety of art work on the wall along with a few sculptures of sea creatures and an iridescent dragonfly. Prints and cards of our work are also available.

You'll find us at Station Road Workshops, through the top carpark in Robin Hood's Bay past the village hall. Look out for the flags. See you there!
