Robin Hood's Bay Arts Group's Exhibition. The Final Total.

Robin Hood's Bay Arts Group have donated £445 to the DEC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal. So a big thank you to everyone who came and supported our Exhibition. It gives us all a huge boost when people buy our artwork. One of our members from the Tuesday afternoon group, Rose Marie sold her 'Make a Wish' painting, a lovely work with dandelion clocks and fairies, and was so delighted with the news she cried. I think it her first ever sale.

A life size lobster made from tin cans
Lobster made from recycled tin cans by Louise Connell

My lobster and crab sold. These are one off sculptures that I make from recycled tins using the ring pull lids to make the bodies and large claws and the tins shaped and folded for the legs. Pieces are riveted together using a pop riveted. I then spray the completed piece silver and paint with acrylics and metallic powders. Anyone interested in commissioning a sea creature should look at my sea creatures gallery on the website to see my other creations.

Speaking of commissions Sadie Hepburn, our top seller at the Exhibition has been asked to do a large oil painting of Robin Hood's Bay.

You can read about the six of us that run Robin Hood's Bay Arts Group and what inspires us on the About page. We've been running the group since October 2016 and our latest Spring Exhibition has been our most successful so far. Here's hoping we continue to go from strength to strength and you continue to support us and the Arts in Robin Hood's Bay.
